Songs from the Earth
Come celebrate the grand finale of the 5th Floor Scholar series!
On June 27, Fulbright-France and Harriet Hale Woolley Scholar Dayton Hare will present Songs from the Earth , a recital exploring the connections between language, music, and the natural world, with a particular focus on climate and our relationship to the environment.
To mark the closing of this extraordinary series, the concert will be followed by a drink in the Petit Salon.

About Dayton Hare
Composer Dayton Hare, currently in residence at the Fondation des États-Unis in Paris in 2024-2025, creates music that balances lyricism, color, narrative, and atmosphere, often inspired by nature and engaged with environmental issues, notably through works he will compose in connection with the city's efforts against climate change, while continuing his studies with Régis Campo at the École Normale de Musique de Paris.

My compositions are deeply inspired by caring for nature and concern about climate change. Songs from the Earth exemplifies this theme, celebrating the beauty of nature, exploring the human impact and psychological effects of the Anthropocene, and hoping to inspire action to protect our planet.
